Spring into Health

What is Spring into Health?

Who: YOU! There are no age or ability restrictions.  As long as you live somewhere between Lake Louise and Morley, you are welcome to participate.  Sign up as an individual, group, family, or organization…whatever works for you!

What: This is a free, self-directed initiative funded by the Bow Valley Primary Care Network.  Your first task is to register on Feb. 29th, 2012 at 1 of the 4 community launch events (Banff, Canmore, Exshaw, Lake Louise) or email springintohealth@bowvalleypcn.ca  with your name, phone number, and home town before this date. 

On Monday, March 5th, 2012 you begin your journey to better health and lifestyle awareness.  Fill out our daily, user-friendly tracking tools to measure your fruit and vegetable consumption, minutes of physical activity and set you weekly wellness aim.  At the end of each week, you will be asked to fill in a SHORT online questionnaire regarding your week.  Each week you will receive tips to enhance your wellness journey & be entered to win draw prizes!  We want to empower you to improve your health by eating well, participating in activity and focusing on a healthier YOU for 12 consecutive weeks. 

Dates:  
               Enrollment & Package Pick-Up:  February 29th from 5-7 pm 
               Start Date: Monday, March 5th, 2012
               Completion Date: Sunday, May 27th, 2012

Volunteer Opportunity

Bow Valley Primary Care Network needs a variety of volunteer Lifestyle Ambassadors to help engage community members in “Spring into Health”. This FREE, self-directed program encourages Bow Valley residents wanting to improve their physical and mental well-being by increasing physical activity, eating more fruit and vegetables and setting weekly wellness aims. Resource materials will be provided to all Lifestyle Ambassadors and participants. Good communicators, energetic, reliable, well-connected in your community, workplace, groups or clubs, our Lifestyle Ambassadors will encourage participants, providing enrolment and ongoing information. A health background is not required but a desire to promote healthy choices, activity and wellness is mandatory! All materials and orientation provided.

Commitment:
up to 10 hours between February 9 & May 28, 2012.
 
Required orientation in Canmore:
February 9, 7:30 – 8:30 pm.
